Gharib Band and Friends

De Syrisch-Nederlandse formatie rondom zanger en ud-speler Gharib Ali, maakte tijdens eerdere optredens in TivoliVredenburg veel indruk. De Gharib Band maakt een muzikale ontmoeting tussen Arabische en Westerse muziek die spannend, uitnodigend en dansbaar is. Het resultaat is een zeer positieve sfeer, maar met een diepere laag van protest.

In het voorprogramma speelt de in Utrecht woonachtige Syrische zanger en ud-speler Nawras met zijn eigen band met onder anderen Modar Salame (percussie) en Manar Mansour (keyboard).
