Optreden Catching Cultures Orchestra met Palmyra op het Sharing Arts & Heritage congres in Leeuwarden

Arts and culture are key factors for building a sustainable Europe, that is now facing growing diversity and polarisation. This international conference investigates how cultural education and cultural participation relate to challenges of access, social cohesion, heritage and cooperation. How can we best channel our research and policies to promote an open, inclusive, resilient European society?

Palmyra zal hier optreden als onderdeel van Catching Cultures Orchestra maar ook als hun eigen Syrische formatie. Palmyra is vernoemd naar de ‘Stad der Duizend Zuilen’ in Syrië. Helaas is deze stad, die op de wereld erfgoed lijst staat, een aantal jaar geleden bijna volledig plat gebombardeerd in de oorlog. Een eerbetoon aan deze bijzondere stad.
